A new exhibition…
I’m so excited to be able to tell you that my solo show at Sarah Wiseman Gallery opens TOMORROW! It’s on from 25th October - and runs until 16th November 2024!
This show follows on from my sellout exhibition with Sarah back in 2021 called ‘The Dog Show’. I couldn’t wait to get back to painting large scale dogs on board, cotton paper and canvas for the new exhibition which will open TOMORROW!
Dogs, dogs and more dogs…
For many years now, I have been slightly obsessed with drawing dogs. It’s impossible to tire of studying the different breeds. From the lanky Great Dane to the squirrel like Chihuahua, their unique characteristics are a dream for an artist like me!

I really like to paint dogs using a variety of materials, anything from pencil to thick emulsion, sandpaper and cotton wool - on board and on paper, every breed requires its own combination of techniques to portray them successfully and convey their individuality.

Dogs have made us smile for years - as humans our connection with our four-legged friends is scientifically proven to increase serotonin, reduce stress and promote mental well-being. It’s no wonder we love them so much.
Working on my dog paintings brings me similar pleasure and I hope that having these characters on the walls in your house is equally bound to bring daily joy to all those who see it.

In this exhibition I have be explored our relationships with our canine friends as well as their relationships with each other. When you walk into the gallery, I’m hoping it will feel as though you are joining in with one the most favoured past times of dog lovers all over the world - The Dog Walk!
I really hope you enjoy browsing the exhibition catalogue. I will be at the exhibition opening event tomorrow, Saturday 26th October 12-4pm. I hope to see some of you there!
If you have any questions or would like further information about any of my paintings in the show please contact the gallery on (01865) 515 123 or email info@wisegal.com
